The Targa Florio is a famous endurance race that took place in Sicily from 1906 to 1977. In this painting, There is recreated a well-known scene featuring the Porsche 908 Spyders driven by Jo Siffert, Pedro Rodriguez and Vic Elford, watched over by team principal John Wyer. The three pretty girls have been added, and the landscape is given greater prominence than in the promotional photograph of the time. The colours are very ‘flashy’ to emphasise the seventies style and match the colour scheme of the cars.
