In 1909, Ettore Bugatti settled in Molsheim, then part of Germany, near Strasbourg, where he set up as an independent car manufacturer.
Art Deco is a glamorous style in the visual and applied arts of the interwar period (c. 1915–1939). It is characterised by clean, geometric shapes, symmetry, zigzag lines and opulent materials such as marble and chrome.
