The company was founded in England on 18 January 1919 by Walter Owen Bentley (1888–1971). Bentley became famous for its sports cars, which competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and often won these races. Between 1927 and 1930, a Bentley won first prize four times in a row.
Art Deco is a glamorous style in the visual and applied arts of the interwar period (c. 1915–1939). It is characterised by clean, geometric shapes, symmetry, zigzag lines and opulent materials such as marble and chrome.
