"Lucky For Some" - Monaco Grand Prix 1955

Item 1 of 2
€ 139,00 (including VAT)

The picture shows Sir Stirling Moss in the Mercedes W196 leading Ascari's Lancia D50 and Trintignant's Ferrari 625 through the Station Hairpin. Hawthorn's Vanwall will shortly retire with a broken throttle linkage. Moss's retirement on lap 81 and then Ascari's fateful plunge into the harbour after brake failure hands the lead to a surprised Maurice Trintignant, who went on to win and become the first Frenchman to achieve a victory in the World Championship. It also gave Ferrari their only F1 grand prix victory of 1955. Ferrari did not win again at Monaco for another 20 years
