The 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 37th Grand Prix of Endurance, and took place on 14 and 15 June 1969. It was the eighth round of the 1969 World Sportscar Championship season.
It was the last year with the traditional "Le Mans" style start, in which the drivers run across the track to enter their cars, start them, and race away.

 

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is an annual motor race held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans (France). Each car is driven by a team of drivers who aim to complete as many laps as possible over a 24-hour period. The race has been held since 1923 and usually takes place in June.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the oldest and biggest sports car races in the world. Along with the Monaco Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500, it is one of the most famous races of the year
