The Nürburgring is a motor racing circuit in Nürburg, in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Construction of the circuit around the village and the medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel began on 27 September 1925. It was officially opened at the weekend of 18 and 19 June 1927. The circuit is nicknamed ‘The Green Hell’.
