Vaclav Zapadlik
Václav Zapadlík (Prague, 23 September 1943 - Prague, 21 August 2018 was a Czech painter and illustrator specialising in drawing and painting historic cars, especially from the 1950s. Vaclav Zapadlik made beautiful prints
He excelled in the accurate depiction of all technical details, but his ‘portraits’ of old cars are not only technically perfect, they also have their poetry, which Zapadlík achieves, among other things, by capturing light reflections on chrome bodies. In his field, he has no competition in the world, but his focus means he is better known to fans of vintage cars than in artistic circles.
